Pudimadaka Lighthouse, PUDIMADAKA Via Achutapuram. (531 )

Pudimadaka is about 30 Km from Anakapalli Railway Station on Visakhapatnam Rajahmundry section.

There is a temple on an off shoot rock which served mariners as the day mark for many decades. The lighthouse was constructed here during 1970-71. The D.A. Gas equipment with Gas motor for driving the optic assembly, supplied by M/s B.B.T.,Paris was installed on the tower. The light was commissioned in January 1971.

With the extension of mains supply to the station, light source was replaced by a 1000W 230V incandescent lamp and also the optic assembly driving was changed over to electrical drive in March 91. The incandescent lamp was replaced by 400W 230V Metal Halide lamp in March 2002.
